Raised by the Shaolin Monks of the White Lotus, Liu Kang has trained himself for the day he would be chosen to represent Earthrealm in the Mortal Kombat tournament. He managed to win not only his first tournament, but the next two as well. After Shinnok's invasion, he was killed by the combined efforts of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, but was later resurrected by a corrupted Raiden.
